Eden Hazard ready to turn down huge bumper contract offer from Chelsea

Everybody knows Real Madrid have to sign the star of the World Cup

It’s likely that he’ll be Real Madrid’s big money signing this summer

Complete the pattern: Fabio Cannavaro, Mesut Özil, James Rodriguez…

Eden Hazard?

Everybody knows that after a World Cup, Real Madrid have to sign the standout player. Those are simply the rules of football. Having seen Eden Hazard shine in Belgium’s first two matches before last night’s dead rubber, it is likely that we’ll see him make a move to the Bernabéu this summer.

Real Madrid have long been admirers of the Chelsea forward and are hoping to bring him to the Spanish capital this summer. Aware of the interest from Madrid, Hazard is ready to turn down a £340,000 per week contract from Chelsea, according to MARCA.

Hazard has his heart set on Madrid, but MARCA believe he will cost the European champions £105.5m.

It would be a shock if Hazard stayed at Chelsea this summer, considering they failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League and have not resolved their managerial situation.

Hazard is now 27 – moving to Madrid will be his best chance of winning the illusive Champions League.

He would fit into Real Madrid’s team nicely too; as Cristiano Ronaldo moves more central, Hazard could potentially slot in on the left wing.

A move for Hazard may depend on the sale of Gareth Bale, though, who has become increasingly frustrated at a lack of game time.
