Christian Eriksen’s collapse was the talk of the world for weeks. The news about his health and the resulting surgery had everyone praying for his full recovery. But now, Eriksen has been pictured for the first time since leaving the hospital, leaving thousands pleased to see him on his feet.

The Denmark midfielder collapsed suddenly during his nation’s opening Euro 2020 match with Finland. The world was shocked, as was Eriksen and the rest of his team. Rumours spiralled, with many questioning whether the player’s collapse was due to a covid vaccine. However, cardiac arrest was confirmed as the cause, with Eriksen undergoing surgery to have a cardioverter defibrillator implanted.

Bjorn Bindzus was the lucky fan who spotted his hero on Tidvilde Strand beach in Denmark. He spoke to BT about his experience, saying that “I was nervous and completely speechless when I had to ask about the picture. But I’m proud that I did it and I’m very happy today.

“We were at a photoshoot for a commercial when I suddenly saw him while we were having lunch. So I waited to ask him until he had finished talking to his girlfriend. And he said yes right away.

“I didn’t see the incident against Finland, but he looked healthy. It was really nice to see.
