Football’s worst kept secret is out
Marco Silva has been confirmed as the new manager, replacing Sam Allardyce, who left earlier this month.
Speaking to Everton’s official tv channel, the 40-year-old spoke of his pride at being named the club’s manager.

“I’m really proud to be the new Everton manager,” Silva told evertontv. “I’m excited and I’m really happy to take this big challenge for us as a club and for me as a manager.”
Silva was linked with the position last year when he was manager of Watford, only for Everton to eventually appoint Allardyce as Ronald Koeman’s replacement.
Silva, who also managed Hull City towards the end of the 2016/17 season, left Vicarage Road in January. Watford had made a bright start to the Premier League season, only for their form to suffer after Silva was linked with a move to Goodison Park.
In a statement confirming his dismissal, Watford appeared to blame Everton, insisting they felt the club’s promising early season form would have continued ‘had it not been for the unwarranted approach by a Premier League rival ‘.
