They’ve been suspended from all football and football-related activity… except for coaching
Two former Swindon Town coaches have been suspended from all football-related activity, except for coaching, the FA has confirmed.
Both Tommy Wright and Dax Price have both been banned, with former caretaker manager Wright banned for six years, whilst Price has been banned for nine years.
The breach relates to rules relating to bribery offences contrary to both section one and two of the Bribery Act 2010.
In a statement on the FA website, it said: “Tommy Wright and Dax Price have been sanctioned for two breaches of FA Rule E3 respectively.”
“Tommy Wright has been suspended from all football and football-related activity, except for coaching, for six years. The former Swindon Town FC caretaker manager and first team coach admitted two counts of ‘requesting, agreeing to receive or accepting a financial or other advantage, contrary to section 2 of the Bribery Act 2010’ and requested a paper hearing.
“Dax Price has been suspended from all football and football-related activity for nine years. The former registered intermediary admitted two counts of ‘offering, promising or giving a financial or other advantage to another person, contrary to section 1 of the Bribery Act 2010’ and requested a personal hearing.
“An independent Regulatory Commission subsequently imposed these respective sanctions, which were effective from Tuesday 16 November 2021.”
Wright played for several clubs during his career, starting out at Leeds United before moving on to clubs such as Leicester City and Middlesbrough before retiring at Doncaster Rovers in 2000.
The 55-year-old had been a member of the coaching staff at Swindon since 2019 – taking over as caretaker manager back in April after former manager John Sheridan was relieved of his duties, but couldn’t help them avoid relegation from League One.
