Exeter made six substitutions during their win against Bradford City on Tuesday night
Exeter City have been ordered to replay their FA Cup First Round replay against Bradford City after they made six substitutions in their win on Tuesday night.
As per the BBC, the FA Cup rules state that teams are not permitted to make more than five subs, which includes any period of extra-time.
Exter’s Josh Key replaced Sam Nombe at the start of the extra 30 minutes, with the Grecians having already made five changes.
The SkyBet League Two side ran out as 3-0 winners after a goalless draw over 90 minutes courtesy of a brace from Matt Jay and a Nigel Atangana strike.
As a result, the FA confirmed that “the result of the match should not stand” and ordered for a replay which is set to take place on Tuesday 30 November.
In a statement via Exeter’s website, they said: “An extraordinary incident report was submitted by the match referee which stated that Exeter City had used a sixth substitute during their Emirates FA Cup First Round Proper Replay against Bradford City on Tuesday 16 November 2021.

“The FA conducted an investigation and referred all of its information to the Professional Game Board [PGB] in accordance with the rules of the competition.
“The PGB deemed that the most appropriate action would be for the match to be replayed in its entirety and has ordered for this to take place at Exeter City’s St James Park on Tuesday 30 November at 19:45.”
