Mohamed Salah’s shoulder is clearly not 100 per cent.
Salah was favouring his left shoulder, the one on which he landed heavily after a challenge from Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos in last month’s Champions League final, as he left the Egypt team coach at the weekend.
An excited supporter rushed to get a selfie with Egypt’s talisman but he was overly eager and grabbed the Liverpool forward’s injured shoulder before being shoved away by a member of the national team’s staff.
Credit to Salah, he patiently stood for a photograph after initially wincing but it’s clear that the area is still very tender.

The 25-year-old took no part in training on Sunday after arriving in Russia and Egypt team doctor Mohamed Abou al-Ela insisted that Salah was unlikely to play in Egypt’s tournament opener against Uruguay on Friday.
“He still feels pain,” Abou el-Ela told Sky Sports. “This type of injury needs a recovery period of three weeks before going back to the field.”
Salah left the pitch in tears on May 26, when the Reds came up short in the Champions League final, and it’s hoped that he will return to fitness in time for Egypt’s second group game against hosts Russia next Tuesday.
“I’m excited. God willing I’m well-prepared and things are going well and my morale is high,” Salah said.
“I cannot say what we’re going to reach, but the players’ ambitions are high and I hope we get a good result.”
