Sure enough, it appears those reports about Liverpool’s next third kit were bang on.
Footy Headlines, a website with a good track record when it comes to leaked football kit news, told us back in November that the Anfield club would be turning out in a ‘grey violet’-coloured kit during the 2018/19 campaign, which would also come complete with luminous pink applications.
This now appears to have been all but confirmed by the emergence of a leaked image which shows the kit’s shirt. As we were told, New Balance seem to have opted for ‘grey violet’ – a colour they’ve never used before – as its base colour. They’ve also used bright pink for their own logo, the Liverpool crest and the main shirt sponsor. The edge of the shirt’s sleeves are also in the same shade of the colour, as is a small triangular area beneath its collar.
The shirt’s main body also appears to feature a ‘watermark’ design of the club’s badge, with a similar effect used for the twin flames which are positioned between the club crest and New Balance logo.
At this stage, it’s still unclear when the shirt – assuming the image proves to show the real thing – is set to be released.
