The trailer has been released for the upcoming documentary looking at Sir Alex Ferguson’s career and life. The production, entitled ‘Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In,’ will look at the incredible story of Fergie and how he became arguably the greatest manager in the history of football.
Described as “the ultimate account of the life and legend of football’s greatest manager,” the doc will look at his upbringing, his playing days, his incredible managerial career at both Aberdeen and Manchester United, and more recently his recovery from a brain haemorrhage in 2018.
Of course, it was for his 26-year tenure at United that the Scot is most famous, a period in which he won *deep breath* 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups, four League Cups, two Champions League titles, one European Cup Winners’ Cup, and a FIFA Club World Cup.
The trailer starts off with the 999 call that Ferguson’s son Jason made, revealing that his father had collapsed, and highlights how desperate Sir Alex was to not lose his memories.
It then takes us through a spine-tingling two mins of highlights from his career.

The synopsis on the documentary’s official website reads: “A revealing and deeply personal documentary about the life of Sir Alex Ferguson, from his working-class roots in Glasgow to his career as one of the greatest football managers of all time.
“While recovering from a traumatic brain haemorrhage, Sir Alex intimately recounts details of his life and career to his son, including his legendary 26-year tenure as manager of Manchester United. Directed by Sir Alex’s son, Jason Ferguson, this is a moving story about the extraordinary power of memory.
“Alex recalls his career vividly – every trophy, every defeat, and every player.”
The documentary features interviews with the man himself, his wife Cathy, his three sons, and former players and colleagues such as Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs and fellow Scot Gordon Strachan.
Only true legends of the game can have a documentary made about them that would genuinely get fans of every club watching, no matter the rivalry. The likes of Maradona, Shankly, Pele.
I don’t think it’s outrageous to say that Fergie falls into this category.
The film will be released in UK cinemas on 27 May, and will be available on Amazon Prime Video in the UK and Ireland from 29 May.
