Macron is desperate for Mbappé to stay at PSG
French president, Emmanuel Macron, has urged Kylian Mbappé to snub a move to Real Madrid and sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Mbappé’s current deal runs out at the end of the season and despite persistent links to Real Madrid over the past year, it now seems possible that he will agree to new terms at the Parc Des Princes stadium.
The 23-year-old pushed for a move to Los Blancos during the summer transfer window before the start of this season, but was unsuccessful in his attempts after PSG knocked back several bids from the Spanish giants.
Despite all the talk surrounding Mbappé’s future, it hasn’t stopped the Frenchman performing to the highest level. The forward has 22 goals in all competitions so far this season.
Most recently he gave Madrid a taste of what might be to come in the not so distant future as his 94th minute winner was enough for PSG to beat Carlo Ancelotti’s side in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.

But whilst Mbappé still looks set to leave, France’s current president has other ideas and has contacted the 23-year-old to express his desire for him to stay in Paris, El Mundo reports.
Macron also did the same back in September during the height of speculation linking the forward with a move to the LaLiga giants and even sent him personal text messages to try and persuade him to stay
Other reports have suggested though that a move to Madrid may not happen after all.
On Thursday, it was revealed by The Independent that Mbappé may consider a lucrative offer from PSG – which includes making him the highest paid player in the world – and earn near the region of £1m a week.
