Neville’s comments came after Raiola spoke about the future of his client, Erling Haaland
Gary Neville has fired back at Mino Raiola’s comments after the super-agent highlighted the lack of success Manchester United have had in comparison to their rivals, Manchester City.
Raiola was speaking on the future of one of his top clients, Erling Haaland, with the Norwegian in hot demand for a move away from current club Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.
Haaland has a £66 million release clause which can be activated from next summer, putting some of Europe’s biggest clubs on alert, with a bidding war expected for the 21-year-old’s signature.
During an interview with German radio station SPORT1, the Italian name-checked Manchester City as a possible destination – with Pep Guardiola’s side holding a long-term interest in Haaland – and took a slight jibe at United’s lack of recent success in comparison to their city rivals.
“We have been thinking about his future for two years,” he said.
“We have clear ideas about where he should go and, of course, we look at what the market will offer.
“Erling Haaland will take the next step. Bayern, Real, Barcelona, Man City – these are the big clubs he can join.
“Man City won the Premier League five times, significantly more than Man United. When we moved to BVB, we all knew that this step would come”.
But former United defender Neville was not happy with Raiola’s comments about his former club, and hit back at his comments after claiming the agent had ‘wiped out’ United’s trophy success.
“I know we’ve been crap recently but Mina Raiola has wiped out all United’s premier league titles in one foul swoop,” he said on Twitter.

United have won 20 top-flight titles – 13 of those coming since the formation of the Premier League in 1992, whereas City have won five Premier League crowns – with all of them coming in the last 10 years.
