Kane has yet to score in the Premier League this season
Harry Kane has admitted that he is struggling for form this season, but has the confidence to rediscover his scoring touch once more.
Kane failed to have an impact in England’s 1-1 draw with with Hungary on Tuesday night and was criticised for his performance by Roy Keane and Ian Wright who described his display as “sluggish” on ITV Sport.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker has also struggled domestically and has failed to score in the Premier League this season, but the 28-year-old does still have nine goals this season -courtesy of the Carabao Cup and Europa League – however with his high standards, it still isn’t enough for him.
Kane was the subject of several transfer rumours following his desire to leave, however a move to Manchester City failed to materialise in the summer and the Spurs and England captain has said that his performances haven’t been good enough.
As per the Mirror, he said: “Like I say performances for club and country maybe haven’t been there the last few weeks but there is no need to panic.
“I am confident in myself, confident in the teams I play in and that is the way it goes.
“I am in a good place. I know there has been a lot of talk about me. At the end of the day I have still scored nine goals this season I am there and working as hard as I can for the team when the chances come I am confident I will put them away.”
Kane is also aware that many people have discussed his form, but knows that when playing at the highest level, it comes with pressure to perform every time.
The forward said: “It is natural that people think like that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. At the end of the day I am my own biggest critic. I put the most pressure on myself to deliver and perform and play well. I have to keep working hard for the team.
“I am as clear as anything. There is a lot of noise around me. When you are a high level sportsman sometimes that is the case. It is how you deal with that, I have good people around me, good friends and family, good teammates, good coaches.
“But every time I step on the field I give 110 per cent for club and country.”
