He’ll claim this one, all right
Harry Kane opened the scoring tonight at the Amex in a thoroughly boring encounter between Brighton and Hove Albion and Tottenham.
Kane has been in the headlines for the past week after he appealed the decision to award Christian Eriksen the opening goal of Tottenham’s match against Stoke last weekend. Kane claimed the ball came off his shoulder and was eventually awarded the goal by the FA’s dubious goal panel.
The jokes aimed at Kane have been relentless. The ball might have taken the slightest of touches off his sleeve, but it seemed like a lot of hassle for not much reward. But he is a striker, and when you’re in a race against Mo Salah for the golden boot, every goal counts.
Kane’s goal this evening at the Amex led to the obvious jokes of ‘He’ll claim that one!’, but also claims for the dubious goals panel to overturn it, as the ball hit Brighton defender and captain Bruno Saltor.

Came off Bruno on the line but nobody is going to deny Kane that one, surely.

The jokes are getting tiresome now, but I don’t think Kane will ever live this down. Was it really worth it, Harry? It wasn’t, was it?
It will be if he somehow manages to pip Salah to the golden boot, but that appears unlikely.
