Premier League on TV: How and where to watch all of the festive football

‘Tis the season to watch lots and lots of Premier League football

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – at least it was before this new Omicron variant arrived.

Thousands and thousands of hours of football, each more climactic than the last – potentially.

There is lots and lots of football scheduled for the festive period. Whether it all actually goes ahead remains to be seen. Any Premier League game that does go ahead, however, rest assured that you will find the time and relevant channel/streaming platform below.

Wednesday December 15 – Thursday December 16

Thankfully this one won’t be too tricky as you’ll be able to see all the games live on BT Sport.

By this stage we are all aware that Manchester United trip to Brentford has been called off, after the club experienced a Covid breakout, Dean Smith goes up against old club Aston Villa with Norwich City, meanwhile Leeds United face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Just one day later and there are a host of other games to choose from, the pick of the bunch being Arsenal’s clash against David Moyes’ high-flying West Ham United side in what could be a battle for a top-four spot.

Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to Brighton and Hove Albion, Burnley are at home to Watford and Crystal Palace host Southampton.

On the Thursday, Leicester City will host Tottenham Hotspur, whilst Rafael Benitez returns to Stamford Bridge with Everton to face Chelsea and Liverpool welcome Newcastle United to Anfield.

Saturday December 18 – Sunday December 19

Start off your weekend binge of football with Manchester United’s lunch time kick-off against Brighton which will be shown live on BT Sport.

Later on in the evening will be Leeds’ game against Arsenal under the floodlights at Elland Road, which gets underway at 5:30pm on Sky Sports.

On Super Sunday, Leicester travel to Goodison Park to face Everton at midday on Sky Sports, whilst the afternoon kick-off will be at St James’ Park as Newcastle host Manchester City before the game of the weekend when Antonio Conte and Tottenham look to try and beat Jurgen Klopp’s impressive Liverpool team.

Saturday December 18:

Boxing Day – December 27

You’re recovering from all that Christmas dinner you’ve eaten, you’re on your third turkey sandwich of the day already and what better way to stomach that by watching the football.

By now you’ll have scrolled past a social media post telling you about the Boxing Day scores from 1964 for the thousandth time, but who cares, because there are some post-Christmas crackers to keep you entertained.

At Anfield, the early kick-off will see Leeds travel to face Liverpool live on BT Sport before the Saturday evening game will be an intriguing game at Villa Park between Aston Villa and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea before the final game of the Boxing Day bonanza sees Brighton host Brentford – with both of those games featuring on Sky Sports.

You’ll only have to wait one day for more footballing action though, when Newcastle welcome Manchester United to the North East on Monday Night Football live on Sky Sports.

Make sure you’ve got your Amazon Prime accounts at the ready over the course of these three days as that’s where all the top-flight action will be held, with every Premier League game live.

In the early kick-off, Arsenal host Wolves, before the 3pm games see Crystal Palace play Norwich, Southampton host Tottenham and Watford welcome West Ham, before the evening kick-off is a fiery battle between Leeds and Aston Villa. If you’ve made it through all of those games your final reward is more football when Leicester face Liverpool at the King Power Stadium in the late game.

On the Wednesday and it’s just the two games with Chelsea facing Brighton at 7:30pm before Manchester City face Brentford at 8:15pm before the Thursday provides you with Newcastle’s trip to Everton and Burnley’s visit to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

New Year’s Day – Monday January 3

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2022 where there is no better place to start than the mouthwatering clash between Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Manchester City which will be shown on BT Sport at 12:30pm. After a bit of rest, you’ll be back in time for the evening kick-off which is a London derby at Selhurst Park between Crystal Palace and West Ham on Sky Sports.

Jump forward a day to January 2 where the early game on Super Sunday as Brentford welcome Aston Villa before the game of the weekend, which could have huge implications in the title race, when Liverpool face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

And then finally, to round off the hectic festive fixture list, Manchester United will be back in action once more as they face Wolves live on Sky Sports at 5:30pm.
