Great to see Gazza in good form.
Very few footballers were as embraced by the British public in the way that Paul Gascoigne is because aside from his genius on the field, he was an absolute character.
Granted, we all know about his very public battles with alcoholism and subsequent problems, but it’s amazing to see the former Newcastle United, Spurs, Everton, Rangers, Lazio etc icon in good spirits.

While the likes of Best, Messi, Maradona, Garrincha, Ronaldo, Maradona, Cruyff etc all had the ability to make people stand up on their feet – it’s arguable that no other English footballer had this level of ability quite like Paul Gascoigne did.
FYI, if you haven’t seen the documentary about him then fix that immediately. We’re not going to ruin the documentary for you but all of the following actually happens; an ostrich showing up for training, Tottenham employees hanging off the back of campervans and a few cracking anecdotes about how Gazza infuriated Alex Ferguson and how he spent the night before the World Cup semi-final against West Germany.
Anyways, just like Neville Southall, Gazza has embraced social media as a way to connect with his fans and in his own unique way, he’s spreading a bit of cheer.
If you love dad jokes then Gazza is definitely worth a follow.
