Going back to their roots

Celtic are one of the United Kingdom’s oldest clubs, full of tradition with a rich history. So what better way to mark their 130th anniversary than by adding a retro vibe to the new away kit?

The good folk at footyheadlines.com have published leaked images of Celtic’s away kit for the upcoming 2018/19 season and it’s mixes modern design with the old school logo very well.

The very first crest that Celtic used, in their formative years, from 1888, has been brought back for this shirt. It also features the same Dafabet sponsor on the front, with a Magners sponsor on the back, suggesting that the names may appear at the bottom of the back of the shirt.

New Balance have also added a subtle collar, with one button, to the shirt, as they have done with Liverpool’s home kit for next season.

This white number is certain to be a hit among fans who love their retro gear, with its simple design and acknowledgement of the club’s history.

Brendan Rodgers’ side will be hoping to achieve their third consecutive double treble next season, an achievement pretty much unheard of in Europe’s more competitive leagues. Expect to see plenty of fans donning this new jersey as Celtic pile in the goals on the likes of Hearts.
