Some Everton fans just couldn’t wait for Tony Bellew’s fight with David Haye as they started throwing their own fists during Saturday’s Premier League clash with Southampton.
The Toffees don’t really have a whole lot left to play for this season and the atmosphere was rather flat for large portions of the opening half at Goodison Park.
Clearly not impressed by what they were watching on the pitch in Everton’s final home game of the season, a couple of supporters clashed in the Main Stand midway through the first half.
There's just been a fight in the main stand

A dull match on the pitch but there's more fight being shown off it as a couple of fans randomly engage in some argy-bargy in the Main Stand with one bloke now shirtless.

Main Stand attention diverted temporarily by a proper slugfest between two young fans. Stewards quickly in to separate the brawlers. Those watching the fight didn't miss anything on the pitch.

Proper straightener going on in the Main Stand between two Everton supporters.

It remains unclear what prompted the fight, which saw one man lose his shirt before reportedly being escorted out of the ground, but perhaps it was the comments a day earlier from manager Sam Allardyce, who claimed that he’d won over the Toffees fans since taking over in November.
“It’s an entertainment game, you’re trying to capture hearts and minds, and I think, particularly from a home point of view, we’ve achieved that,” he said.
Or maybe it was the anticipation of Everton fan Tony Bellew’s grudge rematch against David Haye later that night which inspired the pair of supporters to let their hands go during a rather dull football match.
They’d be best advised to leave the fighting to the professionals, mind.
