Wilshere has been without a club since leaving Bournemouth
Jack Wilshere could be set to make a return to football with National League side Wrexham, according to reports at the Football Insider.
The 29-year-old has been without a club since leaving Bournemouth at the end of last season and has been training with former club Arsenal, but the ambitious fifth tier club are preparing to offer a deal to bring the midfielder to the Racecourse Ground this month.

Wrexham are an ambitious club and have funds available since being taken over by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney back in November 2020.
The Welsh outfit have been able to recruit players from the league above them in a bid to return to the Football League for the first time in 13 years, but should they succeed in their pursuit of Wilshere, it will be one of the highest profile lower-league signings of all time.
Wrexham are also managed by Phil Parkinson, who has significant experience at higher levels, however despite the heavy investment, the National League side find themselves occupying the final play-off spot in seventh place and are six points behind current league leaders, Chesterfield.
Wilshere has found minutes on the pitch hard to come by in recent years due to injury. He featured just 17 times for Bournemouth in the Championship last season after signing for them on a free following his release from West Ham United where he spent two years at.
During his time training at Arsenal, where he is also working towards his coaching badges, manager Mikel Arteta praised his impact made on the youngsters at the club.
He told the Arsenal website: “[For a young player] it is about making it here, beginning to establish yourself and then taking it to the next level for many years and that is very complicated and I think Jack has a great experience to share and talk about what he has been through in his career.”
