One day where Mourinho isn’t in trouble, that’s all we ask

Jose Mourinho is facing another touchline ban from Serie A following his Instagram posts in which he complained about two penalty decisions.

Mourinho sent out a post where he compared a penalty his side were awarded against Juventus last month to one the Bianconeri were given in their Champions League game against Zenit St Petersburg.

On both occasions, the players taking the kick missed from 12 yards, however footage of both penalties shows that that the goalkeepers were off their line. In Juve’s Champions League game, they were forced to re-take the penalty whereas Roma’s stood.

The missed penalty for the Giallorossi meant that they lost the game 1-0 with controversy surrounding it as moments before, Tammy Abraham had scored only for it to be ruled out for the penalty instead.

In true Mourinho fashion, he wasn’t going to let this slide and captioned his post: “One had to be retaken, one hadn’t…Guess which?”

His social media post came just three days after he publicly said in the media that he didn’t want to view his opinions in case it got him in trouble.

Mourinho said after Roma’s 2-1 defeat to AC Milan: “I want to be on the bench on Sunday and I don’t want a disciplinary action against me. That’s why I don’t want to talk.”

However, according to the Mirror, those words didn’t mean that much as the former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur boss now faces a second touchline ban of the season after he was sent to the stands during Roma’s draw against high-flying Napoli and had a touchline ban for their away game against Cagliari.

The Italian side will have the ‘Special One’ on the sidelines for their next game at least as they face Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Conference League who beat them 6-1 in the reverse fixture.
