Mourinho was sent off during Roma’s 2-2 draw with Verona
José Mourinho has been handed a two-match touchline ban and fined €2ok (£16k) following his sending off against Hellas Verona last weekend.
The Roma boss was dismissed for the third time this season after he was sent off in a game against Napoli and a pre-season fixture against Real Betis.
Mourinho was first warned after pointing to his head whilst shouting at referee Luca Pairetto – citing that he had been making bad decisions during the game.
Moments after, the former Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea boss promptly decided to grab a ball on the touchline and kick it high in the air – leading to his dismissal.

The Portuguese man was also alleged to have shouted at Pairetto: “They sent you on purpose, Juve sent you” in reference to Pairetto’s father, Pierluigi.
Pierluigi was involved in the 2006 Calciopoli investigation and Mourinho’s telephone gesture on appeared to be related to Pairetto’s father’s phone calls with then-Juventus director Luciano Moggi.
When the referee only signalled 4 minutes of stoppage time during Roma v Verona, Mourinho made the ‘telephone’ gesture and shouted at the referee:
“They sent you on purpose, Juventus sent you.”

Due to the quartet’s suspension, Salvatore Foti will take charge of first-team affairs for games against Spezia and Atalanta as Roma look to try and remain in contention for a Champions League spot.
The Giallorossi came from two goals behind against Verona at the Stadio Olimpico last Saturday thanks to goals from youngsters Cristian Volpato and Edoardo Bove, who came off the bench to rescue a point.
