‘I love him but he doesn’t do enough’

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has called out Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, claiming that he ‘doesn’t do enough’ for the team.

Ibrahimovic, who spent four years at the Parc de Princes, also challenged Mbappe to associate himself with people who criticise the 22-year-old in order to improve.

Speaking to Telefoot, he said: “I love him but he doesn’t do enough.

“He can become so good if he learns to hurt himself. He needs to get a taste for blood, walk on fire.

“Surround yourself with those who say you aren’t good enough and you will be better.”

Mbappe’s future has been the topic after he was the subject of two bids from Real Madrid in the summer but was denied the chance to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

With his contract up at the end of the season, it remains to be seen if he will stay at the Ligue 1 side beyond the end of this campaign, but the Frenchman has openly admitted on a number of occasions that he would be interested in a move to Madrid.

The legendary forward also had strong words about Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who he claimed are not as good as the team he was a part of.

Ibrahimovic said: “No. Because we were a team. Today, this is not a team. Maybe later on. I believe in this team, but they are not the best.”

PSG remained at the top of the table in France after they came behind to secure a late win over current title holders Lille on Friday night.

Jonathon David gave the away side the lead before goals from Marquinhos and Angel Di Maria’s effort two minutes from time to win the game.
