The 16-year has impressed scouts
Both Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly chasing young Birmingham City striker Romello Mitchell.
The 16-year-old is believed to have impressed scouts from both clubs, who watched him score in Birmingham’s Under-18’s 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
Mitchell fired his way into Liverpool’s radar after he scored twice in the U16s Blades Cup final as Birmingham beat the Merseyside team 8-4.
#LFC scouts have watched Birmingham’s teenage striker Romello Mitchell recently vs Sheffield Wednesday and it wasn’t the first time as I recall he was scouted last year as well. Big upside. pic.twitter.com/70eouxnDZg

Birmingham manager Gary Monk will now find it increasingly difficult to keep hold of the young talent, as both United and Liverpool are expected to compete for his services.
However, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said he does not expect his team to do any business in the remained of the January window.
“At the moment, I can see everyone staying at the club because no deal has been done with anyone I think but then again there is still a few more days,” said Solskjaer.
“But I am not too involved in the negotiations so whatever happens, happens.”
“It will be good to get the window closed so we can just focus on the squad and just improving the ones that stay here.”
