It’s emerged that Loris Karius has undergone a head scan in the United States.
Karius was sent for a scan last Thursday as Liverpool were concerned that their goalkeeper had potentially suffered head trauma in the Champions League final a few days earlier.
The German stopper was floored in a collision with Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos shortly after half-time and, moments later, conceded the first goal of the game when he threw the ball against Karim Benzema and it rebounded into the back of the net.
Karius was also at fault for Real’s third goal of the game, as he failed to deal with a long-range strike from Gareth Bale that should have been caught comfortably.
ESPN report that Liverpool’s medical team had concerns about Karius’ health and feared that he may have suffered a concussion in the clash.
The 24-year-old travelled to the USA for a holiday after the game but his club was adamant that he needed to be examined and he was sent to a specialist in Boston.

Liverpool have not confirmed the report but it’s understood that Karius remains in the US on holiday and he will return to preseason training on Merseyside on July 2.
Karius was not the only victim of Ramos’ roughhousing in Kiev as the Reds’ talisman Mohamed Salah was also forced out of the game when a tussle with the Spanish centre-half resulted in a shoulder injury to the Egyptian international.
Luckily for Salah, it was confirmed on Monday that he has been included in Egypt’s World Cup squad.
