Warning – this is not for the squeamish
On Saturday, West Ham United came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 3-2.
The victory over their London rivals cemented the Hammers’ change in fortunes and took them into the top half of the table, having started the season with four consecutive loses.
However, not everything went swimmingly for the East London side – striker Lucas Perez had to come off after 45 minutes because of a foot injury, and was replaced by Andy Carroll.
After the game, the 30 year old Spaniard shared a photo of his left foot on Twitter – and it made us wince quite a bit.

His foot is punctured in the middle, with blood trickling down.
Lucas Perez’s yellow boot also had a massive crimson stain thanks to the bleeding.
He said in his tweet that he “regrett[ed] not being able to continue helping the team” – seriously mate, with a wound like that, no one is judging you.
James McArthur put Crystal Palace ahead after just six minutes, but goals from Javier Hernandez, Robert Snodgrass and Felipe Anderson secured the points for West Ham.
Snodgrass’ strike was the forward’s first goal for 705 days.
Jeffrey Schlupp pulled one back for Palace late on, but it was not enough for the struggling South Londoners.
