One of the most reliable sources of Manchester United transfer news has revealed that the club has held talks with a top summer target.
The Sunday Times’ Duncan Castles, who has great connections at Old Trafford, has explained the current situation regarding Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, with an agreement apparently reached already between United and the player.
Sandro reportedly found it very easy to agree to the terms proposed by the Red Devils but the Brazilian full-back is also speaking to Paris Saint-Germain, who would likely come out on top in any bidding war with United.
“Juventus don’t actively want to sell Alex Sandro but they are prepared to sell the player because they see the price is so high that they can cash in,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast, as transcribed by Manchester Evening News.
“Manchester United have agreed personal terms in advance with Alex Sandro, he’s not particularly well paid at Juventus so it’s been easy to say ‘we’ll double your salary if you come to us’ and push for the move.
“On top of United’s interest they now have interest from Paris St-Germain, because they are also desperate for a top-quality left-back.
“They’ve also been discussing terms with Sandro, also prepared to pay more.”
It’s understood that Juventus are interested in signing United full-back Matteo Darmian but will only move forward with that deal when Sandro is sold.
