This is how third kits should be
Let’s face it, most third kits are horrendous. They tend to be afterthoughts used to further promote the manufacturer and often use “fan interaction” to excuse them from putting any creative thought into it.
It’s this very reason that makes Manchester United’s third kit for next season such a treat. The blue and gold number had already been leaked online, but has finally been confirmed by the club today.

The kit, which is created from Parley Ocean Plastic in partnership with non-profit organisation Parley for the Oceans, has been released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Manchester United’s European Cup victory in May 1968.
The club wore the now famous blue and gold kit during their 4-1 victory against Benfica at Wembley, and the new kit – if anything – is nicer.

In a statement on the club’s website, Richard Arnold, Manchester United’s Group Managing Director, said: “It’s great to be able to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the club’s first European Cup win. This jersey represents an important moment for our club – when we became the first English team to win the competition.”
