Greater Manchester Police have confirmed a man in his 20s had been released on bail

Mason Greenwood has been released on bail after being arrested on suspicion of rape, sexual assault and threats to kill.
The 20-year-old was arrested on Sunday January 30 after allegations of physical violence were made by a young woman on social media.
Manchester United also reiterated on Monday that Greenwood would “not train with, or play for, the club until further notice.”
The club said: “Manchester United reiterates its strong condemnation of violence of any kind. As previously communicated, Mason Greenwood will not train with, or play for, the club until further notice.”
Greater Manchester Police confirmed in a statement on Wednesday February 2 that a 20-year-old-man had been released on bail.
The statement reads: “A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman has been released on bail pending further investigation.”
GMP have also confirmed that the victim – who cannot be named for legal reasons – will receive specialist support.
