Mo Salah actually apologised to Watford’s goalkeeper after ruining his weekend

What a guy

Mohamed Salah can’t stop scoring.

Those Fantasy Football players who captained the freescoring Liverpool forward this weekend were rewarded handsomely.

Salah took his season’s tally to 36 when he fired four past a hapless Orestis Karnezis in the Reds’ 5-0 victory over Watford at Anfield on Saturday.

Salah has now eclipsed Fernando Torres’ debut season on Merseyside, which makes the Egypt international the most prolific newcomer in Liverpool’s history.

The 25-year-old, who signed from Roma in the summer for £38 million, now looks like a shoe-in for the Golden Boot.

And after Salah ruined the Hornets’ goalkeeper’s evening, he felt like the right thing to do would be to apologise to the stopper.

“I think Mo is on the way,” manager Jurgen Klopp said when asked how close his talisman is to being one of the world’s best players.

“I don’t think Mo or anybody else wants to be compared with Lionel Messi – he is the one who has been doing what he’s been doing for what feels like 20 years or so. The last player I know who had the same influence on a team performance was Diego Maradona.

“But Mo is in a fantastic way, that’s for sure. As it always is in life, if you have to have the skills you have to show that constantly and consistently, and he is very good. He helps us a lot.

“The boys love playing together with him, he loves playing with them so it’s good. He gave us a good four goals. I think that’s quite exceptional and another good performance.”
