The Liverpool attacker has a good point here.
Mohamed Salah is having the season of his life and there could yet be great personal and team prizes to claim yet and make it even better.
The Egyptian scored his 38th Liverpool goal of the season against Manchester City in the 2-1 second leg Champions League quarter final win at the Etihad Stadium. “It’s a great feeling to score,” he said, “and to help your team win in a quarter final. I was cool and did well.”
Salah, who has also found the net three times for his country, is currently leading the way for the Premier League’s Golden Boot [top scorer] accolade.
Heading into the final stretch of the league campaign, Salah sits on 29 goals while Harry Kane is on 25 and Sergio Aguero lies further back on 21. Kane was on 24 until the league’s dubious goal panel judged in his favour for a goal-bound strike he got the final touch on in the 2-1 victory over Stoke.
Kane is said to be upset at the backlash to him claiming the goal, ahead of Christian Eriksen, but he was active in press interviews and on social media about it. There was always going to be some sniping…

Salah was asked about the race for that coveted, golden boot during a wide-ranging interview with CNN. He landed a dig at out-and-out strikers Aguero and Kane but you can’t say he is wrong.
Salah commented:
“Harry Kane and Aguero are strikers. They play as a No.9. I play as a winger more. It’s easier for them as they are always in front of the goal.
“I play as a winger and it’s a bit more difficult as I have to give assists, passes and create chances. As I’ve said before, it is easier for them.”
Supporters of Kane and Aguero will argue that the two forwards have been hit with some bad, and frustrating, injuries this season. However, it is hard to take anything away from Salah, who has also nine assists in the league this season. For the record, Aguero has assisted for six goals while Kane has done so twice.
As for being up there with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi on current form, Salah was a bit more diplomatic on that one.
“I’ll leave that for the people,” he responded with a broad grin.
