N’Golo Kante suffered a health scare last week.
According to a report by Matt Law in The Telegraph, Kante “passed out” in front of “terrified” Chelsea teammates at the club’s training ground on Friday. The French midfielder is understood to have “suffered a heart problem” two days before Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.
Kante was treated by the team doctor after passing out in the dressing room, and was found to not have any heart problems or other issues. He travelled with the Chelsea squad to Manchester, but played no part in the match. The former Leicester City midfielder, who won was player of the year last season, is said to have felt unwell on Sunday morning.
A specialist cleared Kante to play in the match, and the 26-year-old is available for selection for this weekend’s game against Crystal Palace. The report claims that: “no specific reason was given by the specialist as to why Kante would have fainted, but it has been suggested that last week’s freezing temperatures may have been a contributing factor.”
