He has already won a Royal Rumble
Former Norwich, Nottingham Forrest and Sheffield Wednesday striker Grant Holt is due to have his first wrestling match this weekend.
After retiring from the game in 2018, Holt signed a deal with the professional wrestling promotion World Association of Wrestling (WAW) to appear on several of the shows. This was no quick cash-grab either – Holt has been training since last year, undergoing a full wrestling scholarship to make sure he can run the ropes like a pro.
Holt made his first in-ring appearance in September after he entered himself in a 40-man Royal Rumble – and went on to win the match by being the only man not be thrown over the top rope.

Now Grant Holt will be having his first one-on-one contest on Sunday, June 2nd, at the home of Norwich City itself, Carrow Road, on WAW Frightmare show.
Holt isn’t the only big name on the card – former WWE stars Mick Foley, Billy Gunn and Hardcore Holly are all also scheduled to appear.
