“He’s the most overrated player I’ve seen in my life”
Jamie Carragher thinks Manchester United need to offload Paul Pogba at the earliest possible opportunity, describing the Frenchman as “not worth the hassle”.
Numerous reports in the media have linked Pogba with a move away from Old Trafford, and these reports intensified on Monday when Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola said “it’s over” for the World Cup winner at Man Utd.
In an interview with Tuttosport, Raiola said: “I can say now that it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United.”
Speaking late on Monday as a pundit on Sky Sports, Carragher was asked what he thought was the best solution to the Pogba predicament.
“Get rid,” he replied.
“I’ve been saying this for 12 months. My God, he’s the most overrated player I’ve seen in my life. I think the two of them [referring to Pogba and Raiola] are a disgrace.
“We’ll all look at the agent now, and say ‘Ask Pogba what does he think?’ … Agents in this day and age are not agents. He’ll be Pogba’s best mate.”

Carragher said that Pogba would be well aware of what Raiola was saying to the media – but if he wasn’t, he should sack the agent.
Pogba’s current contract runs until 2022, and it appears a further extension is some way off. Pogba has made no secret of his desire to play for Spanish giants Real Madrid at some point in the future, but Carragher thinks that is currently a pipe dream for the Frenchman.
“Who’s gonna have him?” asked the Liverpool legend.
“Man Utd want rid of him, don’t kid yourself. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s been playing Scott McTominay and Fred in front of him in midfield, and he’s had to put [Pogba] in because he was resting players.”
It is an absolutely crucial week for the Old Trafford side.
Manchester United go up against Red Bull Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday night, ahead of which Pogba has called on his teammates to retain focus and be “bad losers”. This weekend, they will then turn their attentions to local neighbours Manchester City.
