On Sunday night, Mo Salah beat out Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane to become PFA Player of the Year.
And you can’t say he doesn’t deserve it. The Egyptian has banged in 41 goals in his debut season for Liverpool, and helped Jurgen Klopp’s side reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. He’s also matched Luis Suarez, Alan Shearer and Cristiano Ronaldo joint record for most goals in a 38 game Premier League season with 31 – and there’s still three games to go.
Obviously, with a season like that, there are discussions about where he stands in the pantheon of greatest ever Premier League players. Is he better than Suarez, or Thierry Henry?
Of course, Piers Morgan has had his say, and it isn’t going down well.
It started with him telling Gary Neville that Salah was the best player in the Premier League since Henry.
I absolutely do. Thierry left in 2007 & Salah’s the best player I’ve seen since then in the PL. https://t.co/3DdpI6h9El

To which, Neville pointed out two obvious names….

And then Morgan dropped the bomb:
Salah's a more complete player than Ronaldo was at United. https://t.co/ljQ1xM54Gw
