Somebody get Roy Keane on the phone
Just hours after Keane ripped into Paul Pogba on Sky Sports, it emerged that the divisive Frenchman was voted into the PFA Team of the Year.
Pogba came in for some typically harsh Keane criticism ahead of Wednesday’s Manchester derby and when kick-off came, United’s record signing displayed the side of his game that has left Red Devils fans tearing their hair out for the past three years.
After a promising opening 30 minutes, United lost their early urgency and desire, leaving Manchester City to dictate the game in the second half and record a straightforward 2-0 victory at Old Trafford.
The result leaves the Premier League title race in City’s hands, with Liverpool supporters now hoping for an unlikely slip-up from Pep Guardiola’s side.
Places in the PFA Team of the Year are largely divided between players from City and Liverpool although Pogba has managed to get into the side.
🗣 – "I don't think he wants to be here." @GNev2 says "world-class" Paul Pogba could become a "massive problem" for @ManUtd if the player has had his head turned. 👀

Pogba’s 16 goals in 44 games this season have seen him rewarded with a place in midfield alongside Bernardo Silva and Fernandinho.
Elsewhere, Ederson has been named in goal after a spectacularly reliable campaign between the sticks for Guardiola’s defending champions.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Aymeric Laporte and Andy Robertson complete the back four while up front, Sergio Aguero is flanked by Raheem Sterling and Sadio Mane.

As voting took place when United were initially rejuvenated under Solskjaer, Pogba’s conclusion makes some sense even though most fans will now rally against it despite the Frenchman being the top-scoring midfielder in the Premier League this season, on thirteen goals along with Gylfi Sigurdsson.
