Pogba reveals what United squad said at half time to inspire incredible Roma comeback

United came back to slap AS Roma 6-2 and it only took some simple advice to inspire

Manchester United have once again reached another semi-final under Ole Gunnar Solskjær and look to have a real chance for a first trophy under the Norweigan club legend.

Last night’s first leg had about a thousand twists in the tale within 35 minutes, as although United took the lead, they were issued a ludicrous penalty and went on to concede another to see them trail 2-1 at half time. However, Paul Pogba – one of many who shone on the night – has revealed what was said in the dressing room that helped them turn the tide.

Speaking to BT Sport in the post-match conference, the Frenchman said the team talk at half-time was nothing more than “let’s do the right things, let’s do simple things and everything will go through”.

Pogba joked that he “shouldn’t tackle”, following the harsh handball decision given against him for the penalty but while he went on to hint that Ole spoke to the players, he would not reveal any specifics, simply stating: “We were all motivated to score as many goals as possible.” – a very classic Man United approach.

And score they did, as the second half saw them net five more goals without an answer from the Italian visitors. While Solskjær and all the players interviewed refused to admit that a four-goal advantage would be enough to see them progress, it seems a fairly safe bet that we’ll be seeing United in the Europe League final – Ole’s first as manager.

People had joked about a possible repeat of the classic 2007 meeting between the two, where Sir Alex Ferguson’s men went on to put on an incredible display in the second leg after losing the first 2-1 – the same scoreline they looked to be facing down this time. United went on to thrash Roma 7-1 in a game that showed why the club is known for being ‘The Comeback Kings’
