It’s been a hugely turbulent summer for Radja Nainggolan
We’re only at the start of June and the Belgian international has already been snubbed by his national team manager Roberto Martinez, as well as opening up about the difficulties, as a footballer, in remaining faithful to his wife.
It looks like his summer isn’t going to get any less interesting either after news emerged from Italy that the 30-year-old is on the verge of a rather shocking move to AS Roma’s Serie A rivals Inter Milan.
According to a report in Football Italia, which quotes numerous sources within the country, the midfielder could seal a deal to the San Siro worth €29 million, with Inter’s youth team talent Nicolò Zaniolo going in the opposite direction.
Nainggolan enjoyed a successful campaign for Roma last season, impressing with six goals and 11 assists as the Giallorossi reached the Champions League semi-finals and finished third in Serie A.
Inter Milan, who are currently managed by former Roma coach Luciano Spaletti, finished fourth in Serie A last season, gaining qualification for next season’s Champions League in the process.
The deal could go through as soon as July 1, and if completed will see Nainggolan earn €4.5m per year.
