Quaresma wasn’t taking any shit
Ricardo Quaresma took matters into his own hands on Sunday night as he picked up and carried off a time-wasting opponent.
The experienced winger’s side, Vitoria de Guimaraes, were trailing to bottom of the league Belenenses 1-0 and in an attempt to grab an important win in their fight for survival, Belenenses opted to waste some time.
Afonso Sousa chose the option of having a little lie down after he had been fouled but, angered by the precious seconds ebbing away, Quaresma decided to intervene.
With no hesitation, the 38-year-old crouched down before hoisting Sousa in the air and cradling him in his arms. Whilst the referee and Belenenses protested and tried to make him put Sousa down, Quaresma was a man on a mission.

Eventually the former Portugal international put his opponent down.
After being confronted by a gang of his Belenenses teammates, Quaresma also picked up a yellow card for his troubles.
Many watching the game also seemed to side with Quaresma – admitting that they would have probably done the same if in the same situation.
One viewer tweeted: “It should always be like this, they just want to burn time , this football is even disgusting.”

Meanwhile another user tweeted: “Thank you Quaresma, thank you for this moment.”
Thankfully it appeared that Sousa was able to see the lighter side of it at the end of the game as he shared the post with three laughing emojis.
