One Birmingham supporter will forever remember the club’s 2018 relegation battle.
Garry Monk secured Birmingham’s Championship status on the final day via a 3-1 victory over Fulham on Sunday afternoon and he’s determined to make fans remember it.
The Blues finished the season in 19th place after goals from Lukas Jutkiewicz, Harlee Dean and Che Adams against Fulham ensured that they ended up five points clear of the drop.
“It’s what the fans want to see,” Monk told the BBC. “They want to see commitment and fight and then, on top of that, they want to see some quality, and we had that.”
In the build-up to the final fixture, Birmingham supporter Kevin Tomlinson promised to get Monk’s face tattooed on his rear end if the club managed to pull off an unlikely victory against Fulham.

Can we all get behind this? No pun intended #J4T21
I ( Kevin Tomlinson ) promised if Birmingham City beat Fulham I would get Gary Monk's face tattooed on my bum and hey ho! Guess what happened. #J4T21

A GoFundMe page was set up to raise the money for the £100 tattoo and Monk wasn’t prepared to pass up the opportunity to be immortalised in ink as he donated £80 to get the campaign over the line.
“Just paid for it, pal!” Monk wrote. “But just one condition… All Bluenoses want to see the proof.”

We eagerly await the evidence and, for Monk, it will be £80 well spent.
