Another day, another new signing for Gerrard at Ibrox
Steven Gerrard has been in the Rangers job for little more than two weeks and he continues to make strides to improve his side ahead of what one would assume to be a proper title challenge next season.
And today he has made yet another addition to his team in the form of Brighton striker Jamie Murphy. The 28-year-old has been on loan at Ibrox since January and has scored five goals in 19 games during his time at the club.
Discussing the deal, Gerrard urged Murphy to kick on now that his move has been made permanent: “It’s more good news for the club that Jamie has committed his future to us ahead of the new campaign.
“He had an impressive start to his Rangers career in the second half of last season and we hope to see him continue to grow at the club next season and beyond.”
Murphy’s signing makes him the club’s third permanent signing since Gerrard took over, after Burnley’s Scott Arfield and Hull’s Allan McGregor joined.
