PETA have accused Müller of allowing horses in his care to perform ‘unnatural sexual acts’
Bayern Munich’s Thomas Müller has been accused of allowing horses in his care to perform “unnatural sexual acts” by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
As reported by the Daily Mail, the allegations were first made after one of Müller’s horses, known as D’Avie, suffered an injury ahead of breeding season – something the animal rights organisation believe was “preventable and unnecessary.”
It follows after West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma was condemned after a video of the 27-year-old abusing his pet cat went viral last week.
Zouma was fined two weeks’ wages as punishment however played in West Ham’s game against Watford before dropping out of the side last minute against Leicester City on Sunday due to illness.
Müller runs a horse farm together with his wife, Lisa, who is a horse trainer. They sell sell frozen horse semen for €200 (£167.55) and there is no suggestion of wrongdoing from the couple.
The 32-year-old released a statement which said: “Unfortunately, we have bad news. Our D’Avie will not be available in the next few months.
“Unfortunately, he slipped during a test attempt to prepare for breeding season and fell dramatically on his side.
“He sustained an injury to the hoof area and will need complete rest for the next few months. He’s a tough guy, and he could have been worse.”

But the German international’s statement led to an angry response from PETA spokesperson, Jana Hoger, who claimed that the injuries to the horse could have been avoided.
The statement said: “It is horrible that self-proclaimed horse lovers force animals in their care to perform unnatural sexual acts to profit from it.
“The injuries D’Avie suffered under the supervision of Lisa and Thomas Müller were preventable and unnecessary.”
