Tottenham released a statement confirming their game against Brighton has been postponed
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that their Premier League game against Brighton and Hove Albion that was due to be played on Sunday has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak at the club.
The decision has been made after eight first-team players and five members of staff have tested positive for covid-19, leaving Antonio Conte with a threadbare squad to select from.
Tottenham had already postponed their UEFA Conference League clash against Rennes, which was due to take place tonight (Thursday 9 December) and had requested the Premier League to postpone their trip to Brighton as well.
We can confirm that our Premier League fixture at Brighton & Hove Albion, on Sunday 12 December at 14:00, has been postponed following a Premier League Board meeting this afternoon.

In a statement on the club’s website, they said: “We can confirm that our Premier League fixture at Brighton & Hove Albion, on Sunday 12 December at 2pm, has been postponed following a Premier League Board meeting this afternoon (Thursday).
“The Premier League Board took the decision to postpone the game following guidance from medical advisers, with the health of players and staff the priority. The fixture will be rescheduled in due course.
“The Club requested the match to be rearranged following a significant number of positive COVID-19 cases among players and relevant staff.
“As with our other affected fixture, against Stade Rennais in the Europa Conference League, we shall update supporters with more information as soon as it is available.
“We should like to apologise to everyone at Stade Rennais and Brighton & Hove Albion and to both their supporters and ours for any inconvenience caused.
“We should also like to thank both clubs for their understanding during these challenging times.”
Tottenham will now have two games in hand on the rest of the league after their away game at Burnley was postponed due to the weather conditions and it remains unknown if their game against Leicester City on Thursday 16 December will go ahead.
