Tottenham Hotspur will be returning to a newly built White Hart Lane for the 2018/19 season after spending a year at Wembley while the ground was rebuilt.
The new stadium will hold more people, have one end behind the goal in the style of Borussia Dortmund’s yellow wall, and will also hold Europe’s longest bar.
But Spurs fans might have to wait a bit longer than initially intended to attend a match at the new Lane as the building process has suffered a setback.
According to reports, 15,000 padded seats installed in the stadium will have to be ripped out and replaced due to the fact that they weren’t installed with the necessary pigment to prevent their dark blue colour from fading in bad weather.
Reports suggest that management at Spurs were absolutely livid with those responsible for making the mistake, and you can understand why.
Spurs are scheduled to play their first four Premier League matches away from home next season while the finishing touches are added to the stadium.
The building staff will be ‘working around the clock’ to ensure there are not further delays to a project that is already cutting it fine.
A spokesman said: “All seats affected are being swiftly replaced and it will not have any impact on the scheduling of our operational test events that are due to commence at the start of August or our first home fixture in our new stadium against Liverpool.”
