What a strike.
The North London Derby unsurprisingly got almost all of the media attention, but there was actually another match on at Saturday lunch time this weekend. A Yorkshire derby no less.
Sheffield United welcomed Leeds United to Bramall Lane with both teams looking to claw their way back up the table into the play-off positions. Before Saturday’s game, the Blades were in 8th while Leeds sat just below them in 10th.
The game got off to a flying start as Billy Sharp gave Sheffield Utd the lead in the second minute. And what a strike it was. It’s the sort of goal you daydream about scoring as a child. The ball hangs in the air, Sharp adjusts his run, sets himself and hits the ball right on the sweet spot, leaving Wieldwald with no chance.

Sharp began his career at Sheffield United in 2004 and is now enjoying his third spell with the club, having played up and down the football league, most notably for Doncaster and Scunthorpe.
Sharp also played for Leeds during the 2014/15 season but showed no interest in a muted celebration after scoring this stunner. It is clear to see how much he enjoyed scoring against Leeds.
