Although there’s the small matter of a Champions League final against Real Madrid still to come, Liverpool’s domestic season is done.
It’s very much a season that has belonged to Mo Salah, whose incredible goalscoring achievements have seen him pick up the main PFA and Football Writers’ awards at the end of the season.
His opener in the 4-0 win over Brighton on Sunday saw him break the Premier League goalscoring record previously jointly held by Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez. The goal also helped him secure the golden boot for the season, which was presented to him on the Anfield pitch shortly after full-time.
While there was plenty of warm applause from the home support for their ‘Egyptian King’, Salah’s young daughter ended up temporarily stealing the show…
Salah was jokingly booed by the crowd when he took the ball off four-year-old Makka shortly after being presented with the golden boot. As the youngster took the ball back, the Anfield crowd went on to cheer her every touch.
The lovely moment was captured by Sky Sports’ cameras…
I guarantee this will be the loveliest 1min30 of your day

Salah arrived at Liverpool last summer from AS Roma, having previously failed to make an impact during his time as a Chelsea player. He scored against the Italian side as they met in the Champions League semi-final, helping book Liverpool’s place in this month’s final against Real Madrid in Kiev.
As well as an incredible goalscoring return during his first season back in England, he has also helped guide the Egyptian national team to this summer’s World Cup, their first appearance at the tournament since 1990.
