By now, there’s a good chance you’ve heard all about the very important matter of Cristiano Ronaldo being kissed by a pitch-invading fan.
The incident happened as the Real Madrid star featured for Portugal in their 3-0 friendly defeat at the hands of the Netherlands in Geneva on Monday evening.
Three pitch-invaders – since revealed as being Swiss comedians – leapt over advertising hoardings and made their way on to the field during a break in play. One of the men, Samir Alic, was able to plant a kiss on Ronaldo’s cheek before being ushered away by security staff.
A matter of hours on, Alic, who was seen holding a mobile phone aloft as he approached Ronaldo, has posted his own footage of the incident to his official Facebook page.
Here, have a look:
Ronaldo, who didn’t appear too impressed by Alic’s antics, was withdrawn after 68 minutes of the game after having a relatively quiet evening.
Goals from Memphis Depay, Ryan Babel and Virgil van Dijk secured a win for the Dutch, who have failed to qualify for the World Cup this summer.
Portugal, the reigning European champions, have been drawn in Group B for this summer’s tournament. They will be joined by Iran, Morocco and Iberian neighbours, Spain.
