It all kicked off at half-time of Manchester City’s FA Cup tie with Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium on Monday night.
A tame first-half was sparked into life when Fabian Delph clattered Max Power with a flying tackle just before the break.
The referee Anthony Taylor looked set to give him a yellow card for the challenge, but when the camera cut back to him, he had a red card in his hand and he sent the City midfielder off
On the sidelines, the two managers got into a heated argument.
Pep Guardiola appeared to think the Wigan players influenced the referee’s decision to show Delph a red, rather than a yellow, as it looked like he was originally set to do.
Paul Cook, the Wigan manager, wasn’t backing down though.
The argument continued into the tunnel and outside the dressing rooms.
The two managers were separated by staff from both clubs, and former Sunderland manager Peter Reid made an appearance.
Some people watching the match weren’t happy that the TV coverage returned to the studio while Guardiola and Cook were arguing.
Why did the BBC cut the tunnel feed when Pep was about to launch into the ref? #WIGMCI #bbcfacup

Why did the BBC cut away from the tunnel cam when Guardiola seemed to be approaching someone? Jermaine Jenas’ commentary an embarrassment discussing his mate’s red card.

Guardiola and Cook about to kick lumps out of each other in the tunnel yet BBC cut away so we can hear what Shearer and Lescott have to say. Madness. #WIGMCI
