Barça boss admitted the atmosphere got to his players
After the game the Barça boss confirmed that his side were affected by the atmosphere and that the club would be investigating as to how so many Frankfurt fans got tickets to the home end.
“Clearly the atmosphere did not help and the club is looking into why this happened,” he said.
“The players want to know why too. It was a clear miscalculation on our part.
“This cannot be allowed to happen. It was more like a final with the stadium divided.”
Club president Joan Laporta also voiced the same opinion as the Spaniard and described the events of Thursday night as a “disgrace.”
“It’s a disgrace what has happened. I feel embarrassed. As a culer I feel ashamed and I am really sorry about what I have seen.”
Frankfurt’s win against the Catalan giants means they will face West Ham United in the semi-finals for a place in the final in Seville.
