Rest in peace, Federico Martin Aramburu
A former Argentinian rugby international, Federico Martin Aramburu, was reportedly shot dead in Paris on Saturday in a drive-by shooting.
According to reports from L’Equipe the 42-year-old had been involved in an early-morning argument at a local bar with a group of people, who later returned to shoot him.
Aramburu made 22 appearances for his national side and played during the 2007 Rugby World Cup where he scored a try against France to help the South American nation finish third.
Prosecutors in Paris have now opened a murder investigation and enquiries to identify the suspects are currently ongoing.
In his club career Aramburu had played for French clubs Perpignan, Biarritz and Dax before eventually going on to join the Glasgow Warriors in 2010.
A tweet from the Warriors said: “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden and tragic death of Warrior #185, Federico Aramburu. The embodiment of a true Warrior and much-loved by all, the thoughts of everyone past and present at the club, are with his family at this immensely difficult time.”

Meanwhile Perpignan tweeted: “Immense sadness at the announcement of the death of our former player Frederico Martin-Aramburu in tragic circumstances. USAP sends its most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.”
Stade Francais also tweeted: “It is with great sadness that the Stade Français Paris learns of the death of Federico Martin Aramburu in tragic circumstances. All our thoughts go out to his family, his loved ones, his clubs and his selection.”
