You’ve got to feel sorry for Abou Diaby.
The French international played only a handful of games in his last few years at Arsenal, before Marseille offered him a route back into the game this season.
Diaby returned to a matchday squad for L’OM’s Coupe de France meeting with Trélissac, but remained on the bench.
And now he has suffered another setback which looks set to delay his debut even further.

Head coach Michel confirmed the midfielder has picked up a calf injury in training, though no return date has been set as things stand.
Diaby’s last appearance in an official match came for Arsenal against Southampton in last season’s Capital One Cup.
He last played a league game on the final day of the 2013/14 Premier League season, coming on as a late substitute for Olivier Giroud in a 2-0 win at Norwich City.
