Liverpool fans probably won’t have too many fond memories of Gabriel Paletta.
The Argentina-born Italian international moved to Anfield from Club Atlético Banfield in 2006, made a handful of appearances and moved back to Argentina to join Boca Juniors the next year.
Now 30, the defender is plying his trade for AC Milan over in Italy and was part of the side that started against Genoa on Tuesday night. Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t part of the side that *finished* the game, after his outrageous attempt at a tackle saw him given a straight red by the ref.
With the seven-time European champions a goal down in the second half, Paletta flies in two-footed at Luca Rigoni, completely missing the ball in the process.
With his opponent rolling about on the floor, Paletta even has the nerve to do that whole “What? Me, ref?” look as the the man in the middle flashes a red card in his face.
I mean, as a general rule mate, it’s not going to end well for you when you’ve gone into a tackle with both of your feet higher than your own head.
