Roy Carroll won’t thank us for this.
The former Manchester United stopper, currently at Notts County, conceded in embarrassing circumstances during their 3-1 defeat at Cambridge United on Saturday.
Having gathered the ball in his hands, Carroll can be seen waiting to clear the ball down field. As is often the case, a striker loitered around the edge of the area.
Rather than guide his kick to the right or left of Ben Williamson and into the path of a teammate, Carroll bizarrely walloped  it into the striker’s back which caused the ball to loop over the goalkeeper’s head and into the net.
This man has a Premier League winner’s medal but, more recently, he’s had an absolute nightmare.
Cheers to Thomas Curran for sending this our way.
